The Farmstead of a Dzūkija Farmer at the End of the 19th- Beginning of the 20th Centuries

On June 15, 1996 the third exposition hall The Farmstead of a Dzūkija Farmer at the End of the 19th- Beginning of the 20th Centuries was opened to town-dwellers and guests. The author of the exhibition is former Director Vidmantas Laurinavičius, painter- Kostas Poškus, and restorer- Jonas Uosaitis.
The life of a Dzūkija farmer is illustrated  by large panoramic photos taken by photographer Vytautas Stanionis. We can see a bread-baking oven, baskets, vats and tubs standing in a pantry or porch. In the yard there is a cart made without any nail, flails, a harrow, a quern, a grass grinding-mill and other tackle. All the items, utensils and household appliances are original made of wood, straw and reed by hands of Dzūkija farmers.
