On June 15,1993 the day of Alytus city, a new exposition hall Material and Spiritual Culture of Dainava Region was opened the authors of which are researcher Saturnina Bubinaitė and painter Kostas Poškus.
       

     On June 15, 1996 the third exposition hall The Farmstead of a Dzūkija Farmer at the End of the 19th- Beginning of the 20th Centuries was opened to town-dwellers and guests. The author of the exhibition is former Director Vidmantas Laurinavičius, painter- Kostas Poškus, and restorer- Jonas Uosaitis.
    

     On February 15, 2008 a new exposition Life on Both Sides of the Nemunas. Alytus in the Documents of Archives, Libraries and Museums was opened. Skirmantė Vaitkevičiūtė is the     designer of the exposition. Audronė Jakunskienė, Vilma Jančiulytė and Vilmantas Dunderis created the conception of the exposition, and Jonas Uosaitis did the technical construction work.
    

     The permanent exhibition was opened in 2000. The authors of the exposition are photographer Galina Tamošiūnienė, painter Kostas Poškus and restorer Jonas Uosaitis.
    

The exhibition was opened in 1998 and it was renewed and expanded in 2003.
